FT Chile is run by Marcelo Araya, a Chilean-American who's lived in Massachusetts for over 22 years. He really knows what fire departments in Chile need.

Back in 1985, Marcelo started out as a junior firefighter in his hometown near Santiago, Chile. Then, in 1991, he joined the local fire department. He even taught vehicle rescue techniques, which let him work with different fire departments and see what they were all dealing with.

In 2002, Marcelo decided to move from Chile to find a better life and chase his dream of seeing how fire departments worked in the US.

​

Over the years, he's made some great friends in fire departments over here. Because of that, firefighters in the US have gotten to know more about the firefighters in Chile and how they're all volunteers.

Marcelo has also been able to get some good great donations of used equipment and gear for fire departments in Chile that need it.
